On August 2, 2021, Maximilian Dood, a video game content producer started the hashtag #FREEMVC2 to bring Marvel Vs Capcom 2 back from non-existence. #FREEMVC2 hashtag is trending 3rd place on Twitter in the United States garnering support from Mvc2 fans around the world. Maximilian started a petition that received over 16,000 signatures in just two days.
AirbrushKing Company developed FreeMvc2.com as the official hub for the hashtag #FREEMVC2 and is now the main hub for Marvel Vs Capcom 2.
